Nearing the end of class 66 orders, production was shifted to Muncie in the USA. This change carried with it some subtle differences that we can see on this model. Named ‘Severn Valley Railway’ in 2016, it can be seen here with the current day ‘europorte’ branding removed.
Our Class 66 model is based on the award winning ‘accura-standard’ platform, with all-wheel powered six-axle bogies, a powerful twin flywheel fitted motor and market leading electronics package.
Lighting and DCC Specifics
i think this is your best yet the detail is immense the lighting superb slow running and the sound is fantastic the rotating axels add plenty of reality and everything works strait from the box the overall paint job is great and of course the etched name plates are a bonus. I've ordered a class 60 lets just hope its up the standard of the 66 well done
Another great model from Accurascale
Thank you so much Accurascale for all the models you've produced to date. They are literally second to none! The unreliability and hefty prices of the two major competitors almost made abandon the hobby. I am absolutely delighted to add some 66’s to my fleet. What can I say that hasn't been said over & over? The model is absolute perfection and arrived in absolute perfect condition all the way to Australia because of the way it was packed.
I would have been shocked had I wanted to give anything less than 5 stars for this loco.
The model is superb. Runs like a dream. Highly detailed and sounds great.
What more could you ask for? Well let me also add superb customer service. When a postal company 'mis-placed' my first loco. Simon/Patrick (and I'm sure others at Accurascale) did everything they could to make sure I had this wonderful model running on my layout. Thank you all so much.

One buffer was loose in the box. I have tried to fit it, but it remains loose.
Otherwise, the loco seems fine as hoped for.
My Class 66 found its way to Germany. In German, we woud say: Geile Maschine!

I’ve had my GBRF 66 for a few days and took it out of the box today. The colours are stunning and the access to the DCC sound and controls centre is so much easier to access. Just four tiny magnets hold the section in, albeit mine came pre fitted with sound it’s nice to know. I tested it out on my test track on a rolling road. Very quiet both directions and speed steps fine. As ever it’s in the detail which Accurascale has seen to in its build quality.
Having never really been a fan of Hornby, bachmann has always had my vote, but now we have Accurascale, This is my third locomotive from them, 1 class 37, and 2 class 66, and the difference is phenomenal, the attention to detail is faultless, and running with dcc sound,lighting has really brought the models to life, only thing is the sounds are not as loud as I would like, but it’s probably only a matter of changing a cv setting,
